Toledo QB Woodside among those invited to NFL combine

    University of Toledo quarterback Logan Woodside earned an invitation to the 2018 NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.

  • The NFL has released the official list of 2018 NFL scouting combine participants.

    The combine will be Feb. 27 through March 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. A total of 326 players were invited to work out at the event in front of NFL scouts.

    Toledo has two representatives in quarterback Logan Woodside and defensive end Ola Adeniyi, while Bowling Green’s punter Joseph Davidson also earned an invite.

    Woodside leaves Toledo as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards (10,514 yards) and passing touchdowns (93). In 2017, Woodside earned MAC Offensive Player of the Year and the Vern Smith Leadership Award as the conference’s top overall player after throwing for 3,882 yards and 28 touchdowns. 

    In 2016, Woodside set single-season school records with 4,129 passing yards and a Football Bowl Subdivision-best 45 touchdown passes.

    Adeniyi left Toledo after his junior season. He was second-team All-MAC at defensive end in 2017.

    Davidson, a first-team All-MAC punter from Findlay, finished his career with 175 punts for 7,915 yards for a career average of 45.2 yards. Davidson was one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award his junior and senior seasons.

    Ohio State will send 11 players to the combine with quarterback J.T. Barrett, linebackers Jerome Baker and Chris Worley, tight end Marcus Baugh, defensive ends Jalyn Holmes, Sam Hubbard, and Tyquan Lewis, offensive linemen Jamarco Jones and Billy Price, cornerback Denzel Ward, and safety Damon Webb.

    Michigan will be represented by offensive lineman Mason Cole, defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, and linebacker Mike McCray.
