A loss by either team would jeopardize their hold on eighth place — and the final first-round home game in the MAC tournament. … Eastern Michigan is led by forward Elijah Minnie (15.6 points per game), center James Thompson (15.1 points), and guard Paul Jackson (15.0 points). The Rockets were were 0-for-8 on 3-point attempts, making it the first game they failed to hit a 3 since 2008. … Toledo is 6-7 away from home. … Kaayla McIntyre leads the Rockets in scoring at 15.3 points per game, Mikaela Boyd adds 12.1 points, and Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott averages 11. 8. … Central Michigan is coming off a 74-72 win Wednesday at Ohio. … All five Chippewa starters average at least 10.5 points per game, led by 18.5 points from Tinara Moore and 18.3 points from Presley Hudson. … Moore was the West player of the week last week, and added 18 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots in the win against the Bobcats. ...     ■ Notes: The Falcons will play a West opponent for the final time this season. … The contest will be a homecoming of sorts for four of the five true freshmen on the roster, since all played in high school in Illinois. Terri Battle is from Chicago, Angela Perry is from Rochester, Ill., Sierra Thompson is a product of Mattoon, Ill., and Kennedy Williams hails from Marshall, Ill. … Northern Illinois, which was picked to finish fifth in the MAC West Division after posting a 21-13 record and 12-6 MAC mark, snapped a seven-game losing streak with wins against Kent State and Akron in its past two games. … Courtney Woods leads the Huskies — and the MAC — in scoring with 21.4 points per game. … The road was an unkind place for the Falcons in January, although they did claim a victory Jan. 13 at Akron. In the other three road games that month, BG lost by an average of almost 34 points per game. … In the past three games, Perry matched her career-high point total with four at Kent State, then set new highs with six against Miami and nine versus Western Michigan on Wednesday. … After this, the Falcons will have a week off before playing Feb. 17 at Ohio.
