Port Clinton man gets 25 years for sexual assault of children
3/18/2017PORT CLINTON — A Port Clinton man who admitted sexually assaulting two children was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison.
Allen Kreager, 62, also was classified as a sex offender who must register his address with the sheriff in the county where he lives every 90 days for the rest of his life.
Kreager, who was indicted last year on 66 criminal charges, pleaded guilty Jan. 19 in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court to two counts each of rape and pandering obscenity involving a minor. The conduct occurred between 2009 and 2015.
Defense attorney Troy Wisehart told the court in a sentencing memorandum that a neighbor had sexually abused Kreager when he was a child, but Judge Bruce Winters said that is no excuse.
