  • A Toledo pastor arrested last week for sex trafficking of children on Wednesday waived his right to argue that a bond be set that would allow his release from jail.

Through his court-appointed attorney Adam Nightingale, Kenneth Butler waived the detention hearing scheduled for Thursday in federal court before Magistrate Judge James Knepp. He reserved the right to ask for a detention hearing at a later date.

Mr. Butler, 37, pastor of Kingdom Encounter Family Worship Center, is the third local pastor to be charged in U.S. District Court with sex trafficking stemming from alleged sex-for-hire encounters with teen-aged girls.
