The Blade in Education is running its School Stock Content this year, and this week is when participating teachers at area schools need to register their students’ teams with their stock picks.
The contest runs for 12 weeks and begins at the end of next week and ends April 21. The students’ teams must pick four stocks and the portfolio which increases the most during the contest wins. Prizes will be given to the top three teams, with an additional $1,000 provided by Taylor Automotive Group.
Registration for participating teams must be completed by 5 p.m. Friday. Teachers can register at this website: https://stweb.st.utoledo.edu/hsstockcompetition.
Teachers with questions and to obtain a copy of the rules, please contact Christine Smallman, head of The Blade in Education program, at csmallman@toledoblade.com or Blade Business Editor Greg Braknis at gbraknis@theblade.com.
Besides The Blade and University of Toledo, which keeps track of the portfolio entries and calculates the stock values, the contest is sponsored by Taylor Automotive and Fifth Third Bank.
