The Perrysburg Board of Education voted Monday to adopt a new transportation plan for the upcoming school year that adapts routes for the district’s new intermediate school.

The plan moves Perrysburg High’s start time back by 30 minutes, to 8:30 a.m.; maintains a 9 a.m. start time for the district’s four elementary schools; pushes the junior high start time back 15 minutes to 8 a.m., and sets the new Hull Prairie Intermediate School start time at 7:45 a.m.

High-school dismissal will move back 30 minutes, to 3:25 p.m., while grade-school classes will end 15 minutes later at 3:45 p.m.; the junior high ends 20 minutes later at 2:55 p.m., and the intermediate school ends its day at 2:45 p.m.

Except for the high school, the plan adds time to each school day. That time is needed to accommodate the seven-hour school day at Hull Prairie, added bus routes needed to get students to a new school, and coordinating schedules so faculty can split time between the intermediate and junior high schools, Superintendent of Schools Tom Hosler said.
