From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, head to Packo’s at the Park, 7 S. Superior St., for a special fund-raiser to benefit Toledo GROWs. Whether you dine in or carry out, let your server or the cashier know that you want to support the good cause; 20 percent of the proceeds from your meal will be donated.

Enjoy any (or all!) of your favorite items — the famous Hungarian hot dogs, fried pickles, chicken paprikas, or other dishes — knowing that your meal will help an important organization that encourages urban gardening and creates educational classroom projects.

For more information, call the restaurant at 419-246-1111.

One Bite Experience in Bowling Green

Eat your way through downtown Bowling Green at the One Bite Experience, a part of the 26th annual Art Walk, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28. For a $10 admission pass, you’ll get to sample items at A Taste of Amish Deli, the Cookie Jar, Everyday People Café, Kabob It, Qdoba Mexican Eats, Reverend’s Bar and Grill, and SamB’s Restaurant.

Reservations must be made by Saturday, and tickets can be purchased at ticketwizard.events/e/art-walk-2018. (Only 200 spots are available; there will be no day-of-event sales.) Then pick up your passes at the Four Corners Center, 130 S. Main St., on April 28 before heading out on your appetizing adventure.

For more information, call Downtown Bowling Green at 419-354-4332.

No Show Gala for SeaGate Food Bank

Every other fund-raiser expects us to dress up and show up. But not the No Show Gala, presented by Mercy Health, which will benefit the SeaGate Food Bank.

You can fight hunger, and maybe even win a fabulous prize, all while staying home in your jammies and bunny slippers. It’s the non-event of the year, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the food bank without having to pay for hall rental, live music, catering, or any of the usual costs associated with a big party.

All you have to do is purchase raffle tickets: $25 each, three for $50, or 7 for $100. On April 28, the food bank will hold a drawing for amazing prizes, such as a two-night stay at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, the chance to throw out a first pitch for the Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field, restaurant gift certificates (Georgio’s Café International among them), tickets to Cedar Point, a family membership to the Toledo Zoo, tickets to shows at the Stranahan Theater or Huntington Center, a case of California wine from Heidelberg Distributing, and airfare for two to Florida.

SeaGate strives to alleviate hunger in northwest Ohio through food distribution as well as three special programs: Help Me Grow, providing supplies for newborns; Milk Money for Kids, making sure that school-age children get milk even when school isn’t in session; and Eat Right Academy, a program to teach nutrition and cooking skills (which lets participants keep the cookware they use).

For more information or to purchase tickets, go to seagatefoodbank.org/no-show-dinner-gala or call 419-244-6996.
