It may seem that our freshwater supply is endless and that we don’t need the tiny species of plants and animals that will surely be wiped out by the ongoing warming of our planet, but we do need them.
Losing a bit “here and there” rocks our ecosystems ever so slightly. When associated species also begin to disappear, real trouble is sure to follow.
Keep the pressure on Congress to keep the regulations that protect our environment intact and to increase funding for research. Generations to come will be grateful that you did.

President doesn’t believe own agenda
President Trump is a study in contrasts. He received unprecedented coverage from the media while campaigning, yet he wants legislation to make it easier to sue them.
He wooed the poor and the forgotten middle class, yet he lives the lavish lifestyle of a billionaire. He wanted to forgo his salary as President, but Congress plans to allot an extra $68 million through September to local law-enforcement agencies to safeguard him at his various residences, including in New York City.
He wants to deport undocumented immigrants, yet for many years his business enterprises sought green-card status for large numbers of their employees.
He advocates “Buy American,” yet goods bearing his and daughter Ivanka’s names are produced in Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Honduras, China, and other countries.
He wants to have his cake and eat it too.

Mandel’s ads raise questions
Thank you for the article on Josh Mandel’s use of tax money for a plethora of ads featuring an adorable girl, a coach, and himself (April 27, “Mandel’s public service ad comes under scrutiny”).
The day after election ads stopped, surprise, there were ads announcing Mr. Mandel running for U.S. Senate.
I found this juxtaposition amazing and somewhat slimy. Thank you again for confirming my suspicions.
