To the editor: Californians try their tricks in Ohio

10/7/2017

Watch out Ohio, the Californians are coming.

This fall, Ohio gets to vote on a drug price-fixing issue so poorly thought out that the group in California could not get it passed there. So, nice of them to come to Ohio and tell us how we should be living.

Issue 2 attempts to sound like a free money for everyone event. Ohio common sense says there is no free money, instead the issue attempts to hit those who have sacrificed the most, our veterans — with higher drug costs and possible drug shortages.

Come on, Ohio, help defend our border and take care of our veterans, send them home with a polite “no thank you” to Issue 2.

Don’t get rich on taxpayers’ dime

To any of the congressmen and other members of government in Washington, I suggest you get down on your knees and thank God I’m not the one in control.

Anybody who sits in luxury or first-class seats, eats first-class meals, and who buys or has any luxury items on my dime, would be paying back every cent and sitting in jail.

How do you look in orange?

Bring on life-saving natural disasters

Is it possible, in an ironic way, that Mother Nature may have just saved humanity from nuclear war?

Up until Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria struck, reshuffling America’s “budgetary deck,” the President and his hawks and advisers were planning on ramping up our military to the “Fire and Fury” realm regarding North Korea. They were vowing to spend billions more on our military might and possible war.

How many more bombs do we really need? The President himself said that Puerto Rico “threw the budget out of whack.” Does that mean we may have to funnel some of our military budget to rebuild humanity rather than destroying it?

I hope so, because if natural disasters are what it takes to keep us out of war, I’m all for them!
