Hospital council hosts basketball tournament, health fair

A co-ed 3-on-3 basketball tournament and health fair will take place April 22. The Hoopin’ for Health tournament will feature teams ages 13-14, 15-17, and 18 and up.

The event will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wayman Palmer YMCA, 2053 N. 14th St., and will feature a healthy snack station, educational materials, diaper drive, and giveaways.

It is is hosted by the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio’s Northwest Ohio Pathways HUB. To register for the free tournament, email Derek Williams at dwilliams@hcno.org by April 14. Participants should include a team name and players’ names when registering.

 

Findlay hospital named one of best in the country

For the fifth year, Blanchard Valley Hospital was named a 100 Top Hospital by Truven Health Analytics, a subsidiary of IBM. The award recognizes hospitals that improve patient outcomes, including fewer patient complications, survival rates, and shorter length of stay.

 

Mercy Health talks cancer

The public is invited to learn more about the services provided at Mercy Health’s new Perrysburg Cancer Center at two events this week. Attendees will learn more about the available options for services such as diagnostics, radiation, and clinical trials.

Hear from the experts at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital Board Room, 2600 Navarre Ave., or 10 a.m. Thursday at Mercy Health St. Anne Hospital Conference Center, 3404 W. Sylvania Ave.
