Downtown will be rockin’ on St. Patrick’s Day, as will other parts of Metro Toledo.

At the Blarney Irish Pub, 601 Monroe St. across from Fifth Third Field, a two-day celebration begins with a full Irish breakfast at 7 a.m. Friday, and kicks into high gear under a heated tent along Huron Street five hours later.

Patrons can drink under the tent Friday from noon to 1 a.m., and Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to midnight. The indoor pub will be open until 2 a.m. Cover charge for tent admission is $5. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Toledo Firefighters Local 92 Charities.

A Shamrockin’ shuffle 3-mile walk/run will begin at 4 p.m. See runtoledo.com. There will be lots of Irish food, dancing, bagpipers, and Irish-themed bands.

Owner Ed Beczynski said this is the establishment’s 11th year of hosting St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The Blarney said it is working with the Park Inn to offer a special hotel rate by using the promo code StPats. Black & White cab will have a designated taxi stand on Huron Street behind the tent. Call Travis Beczynski at 419-377-7772 or go to theblarneyirishpub.com or facebook.com/blarneytoledo for more information.

A couple of blocks away, Hensville, likewise, expects to have a sizable crowd in its part Toledo’s downtown warehouse district.

Located along St. Clair St., Hensville will host multiple bands at Fleetwood’s Tap Room and NINE Pub starting at 4 p.m. Friday and continuing until midnight. Organizers expect more than the 1,000 people who partied in Hensville during the inaugural St. Patrick’s Day party in 2016. Tickets are $10 at the door or $5 in advance. Go to bit.ly/2mk6byK

Irish food and drink specials will be offered, with green beer as one of the 48 beers on tap.

The warehouse district said more than 20 bars and restaurants in that part of downtown will have St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
