MONROE — Three people have been arrested in Monroe and accused of illegal gambling after police interrupted their dice game, authorities said.
The suspects were booked into the Monroe County jail, with charges pending. Their names were being withheld pending arraignment.
Monroe police said they broke up “an illegal gambling dice game” in the 400 block of Almyra Street about 5:20 p.m. Thursday and arrested the suspects, one of whom tried to hide under the porch.

Police then conducted a search of the area and recovered crack cocaine and a stolen handgun, which was loaded. Another handgun, suspected heroin, and items used for preparing and packaging illegal narcotics were recovered from a nearby residence.
