Fremont police make arrest in fatal shooting of teen

FREMONT — Fremont police are investigating a fatal shooting involving a 14-year-old boy, the department said in a press release.

Police were called to a home in the 300 block of Jackson Street just before 5 p.m. Sunday for a shooting. The boy was pronounced dead while he was being transported to the hospital, according to police.

The name of the boy was not immediately released. 

Another 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the shooting and has been taken to the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center. Charges that will be filed will include involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, and burglary.

Police said this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no longer a threat.
