Toledo man reports theft of truck, pistol-whipping in South Toledo
11/13/2017Toledo police are investigating a reported weekend carjacking involving a gun.
An unidentified man approached a truck about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Western and Maumee avenues in South Toledo. He ordered Jose de Jesus Aguirre-Torres to unlock the doors, and he entered the truck, according to police.
The man told Mr. Aguirre-Torres, of Toledo, to drive into an alley between Colburn and Orchard streets. Mr. Aguirre-Torres said he was pistol-whipped and forced to leave the truck. Mr. Aguirre-Torres had a cut above his right eyes, but declined treatment, police said.
