First responders go to same house for separate overdoses

Toledo police and fire departments responded twice to the same West Toledo home Tuesday for separate overdose calls. 

The first call came in at approximately 10:42 p.m. Tuesday. The caller, Jessica L. Feeny, 38, reported Michael Skinner, of the 3200 block of Hill Avenue, overdosed at a residence in the 1700 block of Brame Place, according to a Toledo Police report. 

According to the report, Ms. Feeny said she heard Mr. Skinner walking around downstairs and then heard him ask if there was “any Narcan in the house.” Ms. Feeny went downstairs to check on Mr. Skinner, who fell forward onto the floor. He became unresponsive, according to the police report.

Ms. Feeny, of the 2100 block of North Summit Street, told police she began chest compressions but was unable to revive him. 

First responders administered two doses of the opioid-reversing medication naloxone to Mr. Skinner. He was then transported by a life squad to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment, the report said. 

About an hour later, first responders were called back to the Brame Place home. This time, Ms. Feeny had overdosed, police said. 

Another person, Patricia Werner, 58, who lives at the residence, was reportedly home, though it was not specified who called for help for Ms. Feeny. 

Ms. Feeny was also transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment. 

No charges have been filed against either Mr. Skinner or Ms. Feeny.
