Man found unconscious at the bottom of West Toledo apartment pool

A West Toledo man was found unconscious at the bottom of an apartment complex pool Wednesday evening, Toledo police said. 

Emergency crews were called at about 8:45 p.m. to the Abbey Run Apartments for a possible drowning. When police arrived, witnesses were pulling a man, identified as Orlando C. Alarcon, 35, from the pool, according to a police report. 

A witness told police he heard a child in the pool yelling for help, the report stated. 

A man and the child pulled Mr. Alarcon from the pool, and the man and another witness began chest compressions until police arrived on scene, the report stated.

Toledo police continued chest compressions until Toledo Fire and Rescue crews arrived.  

Mr. Alarcon was temporarily revived and taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital. It is unknown if he will recover, according to police.

A hospital spokesman did not have a patient listed under that name Thursday.
