Monroe County jail inmate in critical condition after attempted suicide
7/12/2018MONROE — An inmate tried to kill himself inside the Monroe County jail and remains in critical condition.
Corrections officers found the man, 22, of Monroe, hanging in his cell about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. They removed the ligature from his neck and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until medical personnel arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
Officials declined to identify him at this time. He is being treated at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
