Ohio Sen. Rob Portman will vote in favor of Tuesday’s crucial Senate motion to proceed with debate on an Obamacare replacement.
Portman called Gov. John Kasich to inform him of his decision, a source close to Kasich told The Dispatch. Portman’s move represents a crucial step toward Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s strenuous push to achieve at least 50 votes among the 52 Republican senators.
The procedural vote will determine whether the health-care repeal bill that passed the House in May will be formally considered by the full Senate.
