Transactions: The Mud Hens may be in a pitching bind Sunday because of the Tigers’ scheduled doubleheader against the Yankees. Detroit is allowed to add a 26th player to the roster for the twinbill, and that player could be Toledo’s scheduled starter, Saupold.

Weather: Rain is in the forecast for most of the day Sunday, and the high temperature is expected to be a less-than-balmy 48 degrees. But the forecast for Saturday was similar, and the Hens were able to play.

Notes: Mud Hens OF Mike Gerber has scuffled at the plate since the team has arrived at Fifth Third Field. In his first three home games this season he has just one hit in 12 at-bats, a double in Friday’s loss, and has struck out eight times. … Pawtucket’s Sunday starter, William Cuevas, made nine starts for the Hens last season (2-4, 4.06 ERA) and surrendered three hits and four runs while getting just one out in an appearance with Detroit.
