    Saturday’s game: A five-run third inning doomed the Mud Hens in a 7-2 loss to Norfolk at Fifth Third Field. The Tides bashed 11 hits, including two home runs and five extra-base blows, to beat Toledo for the second night in a row and improve their record to 5-1 at Fifth Third Field this season.

    Promotions: There will be an inflatable theme park on St. Clair Street beyond the right-field fence, and the Rescue Dogs will make an appearance at the ballpark. … Children will be allowed to run the bases after the contest. … Following the game will be a charity “Battle of the Badges” contest between Toledo policemen and firemen.

    Weather: For the second day in a row Toledo is expected to have overcast skies, with a 50-50 chance of rain at first pitch — a percentage that will rise as the night wears on.

    Notes: Norfolk starter Tim Melville pitched for the Mud Hens in 2015, posting a 7-10 record and 4.63 ERA in 27 starts. … While Toledo has a .265 team batting average this season, the Hens have hit just .227 against the Tides this season and scored just 13 runs in six games. … Mud Hens outfielder Mike Gerber has an eight-game home hitting streak, having batted .394 with three doubles, two homers and seven RBIs in that span.
