With the conference season in full swing, the University of Toledo men’s and women’s basketball teams have big tests this weekend. Here is a quick look at the scouting report for this weekends opponents:

Men

Toledo (10-6, 2-1 MAC) at Central Michigan (12-4, 1-2 MAC)

The Rockets are coming off a home win over preseason MAC favorite Western Michigan on Tuesday and look to get a tough road win in Mount Pleasant.

Scouting report: Central Michigan started strong this season withan 11-2 non-conference record, but has struggled out of the gate in the MAC season. Three Chippewas are scoring in double figures this season. Cecil Williams leads the way with 14.9 points per game and David DiLeo and Shawn Roundtree add 13.9 and 13.6 points, respectively.

Women

Northern Illinois (10-5, 2-2 MAC) at Toledo (11-5, 2-2 MAC)

The Rockets earned a big home win over Ohio on Wednesday night to move them back to .500 in MAC play. Toledo had previously lost to the Bobcats in Athens 78-61 in its MAC opener on Dec. 31.

Scouting report: This is a rematch of the MAC championship game last season which Toledo won. This year’s Northern Illinois team is off to a good start and with wins over talented MAC East squads in Buffalo and Kent State. The Huskies lost on Wednesday at Western Michigan and also fell on the road at Miami. Courtney Woods is the player to watch for Northern Illinois as she is averaging 20.2 points per game.
