According to the National Weather Service, a lakeshore flood watch is in effect until Friday afternoon for Lucas County and Ottawa County.

High water levels are expected along Lake Erie thanks to strong northeast winds, which could produce flooding of beaches and low-lying areas. Residents on or near the shore should begin to take action to protect property.

There is also a high swimming risk from waves and dangerous currents through Friday night, which could create life-threatening conditions even for good swimmers.
