Fulton County Fair coming to a close

It’s the last call for the Fulton County Fair, which comes to a close on Friday.

One of northwest Ohio’s biggest fairs, the event began a week ago. The fair is at 8514 State Rt. 108, Wauseon, 40 miles west of Toledo and a quarter-mile north of Exit 34 on the Ohio Turnpike. General admission is $5, with children 15 and younger admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Parking is free. For information, go to fultoncountyfair.com.

The Full Monty is being performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Valentine Theatre, 425 N. St. Clair St. It is the Valentine’s first local production on its main stage in a decade.

Adapted from the Oscar-winning movie, the musical follows the journey of two unemployed steelworkers desperate to make a living. When the search becomes hopeless, they put together a male striptease act.

■ The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Rd., Perrysburg, is hosting its 17th annual International Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

More than 20 ethnic cultures will be represented. Visitors can choose from more than 100 varieties of food, as well as cooking demonstrations, language and cultural presentations, a shopping bazaar, children’s rides, rock climbing and other activities, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, pony rides, and camel rides. Tours of the Islamic Center also will be available.

Admission is free, but parking is $3.

■ A free Fall RV Show is being presented by Northwest Ohio RV Dealers Friday through Sunday at The Shops at Fallen Timbers, 3100 Main St., Maumee, just off State Rt. 24, 1.5 miles west of U.S. 23/I-475.

Billed at the area’s largest outdoor RV show, the event features more than 100 RVs from six local Northwest Ohio RV Dealers.

Motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, hybrid trailers, and more will be shown. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

■ It’s all about jazz at the 2017 Grugelfest, which unfolds Friday through Sunday at the Holiday Inn French Quarter, 10630 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg. Five jazz bands specializing in ragtime, Dixieland, and other sounds of yesteryear will be featured.

Tickets are $45 for individual sessions and up to $160 for weekend packages that include some extras. A prefestival party is at 8 p.m. Thursday at Ye Olde Durty Bird, 2 South St. Clair St. Profits from Grugelfest 2017 will benefit the Dyslexia Education Training Center of Northwest Ohio.
