The nonprofit group Downtown 419 is hosting a special Friday the 13th Warehouse Party at 1119 Summit St. before the building is renovated into loft apartments.

The party is from 8 p.m. to midnight. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Muha. Costumes are encouraged. There will be a cash bar, and the event is limited to those 21 and older. Tickets are $15 or $30 for VIP passes, which include a private seating area and private bar. Sponsored by the Lucas County Land Bank & ARK Construction. To buy tickets, go to bit.ly/2kAztNe.

■ Toledo Opera’s performance of French composer Georg Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Valentine Theatre, 425 N. St. Clair St. Tickets are $30 to $75 and can be purchased online at bit.ly/2wJgxxo.

The performances are a first for the company. The story is about how pearl fishers of Sri Lanka risk their lives in the pursuit of beauty, but love ultimately proves to be more dangerous as passion complicates loyalty and duty. The show’s cast is joined by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and the Toledo Opera Chorus, led by conductor John Baril in his Toledo Opera debut. Directed by Bernard Uzan, with project imagery led by Michael Baumgarten.
