Toledo man indicted for holdup at Jimmy John's
10/12/2017A Toledo man with a prior conviction for robbery was indicted in U.S. District Court for using a firearm to hold up a downtown sandwich shop.
Mark Larkett, 29, of the 800 block of Fernwood Avenue was indicted for robbery, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from a Sept. 25 holdup at Jimmy John's, 405 Adams St.
Toledo police said Larkett entered Jimmy John's about 8:15 a.m. through an unlocked door, although the business was closed at the time. He allegedly demanded money from an employee at gunpoint and fled with $755.
Larkett, who was convicted of robbery in Lucas County Common Pleas Court in 2006, was apprehended a short time later in the 600 block of Adams Street. He was indicted Oct. 3 by a Lucas County grand jury for aggravated robbery for the same incident, but that case is expected to be dismissed following the federal indictment.
