Man who filed false return gets probation

A Toledo man who admitted filing a false tax return was put on probation for a year and ordered to pay $42,472 in restitution.

John J. Manore III, 60, pleaded guilty Aug. 22 to one count of filing a false tax return in U.S. District Court. Two additional counts were dismissed Tuesday under a plea agreement.

Federal prosecutors alleged Manore underreported his income from 2008 to 2010.
