A Toledo man charged with setting fire to a central city home then filing an insurance claim entered Alford pleas — not admitting guilt — Friday to attempted aggravated arson and insurance fraud.

Dalon Coffey, 26, of the 1100 block of Buckingham Street was found guilty by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Lindsay Navarre, who set sentencing and a restitution hearing for June 5.

Prosecutors said Coffey set a fire Nov. 3 at 905 Heston St. and then filed a fraudulent claim for losses on his renter’s insurance policy. No one was home, but the fire caused some $28,500 in damages.
