Lourdes University will host a panel discussion about helping homeless students on Nov. 30.

The discussion, designed for teachers and social workers, “aims to educate individuals and the general public about homelessness and, more importantly, provide valuable insight about support available for elementary and high school students who are struggling with homelessness while pursuing their education,” a Lourdes statement said.

Panel participants include Renee Palacios, the executive director of Family House; Mike Badik, the executive director of the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board; Evelyn McKinney, director of homeless initiatives for Toledo Public Schools, and Tammy Holder, chief executive officer of Leading Families Home: A Beach House/FOCUS Partnership.

The 90-minute program will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., and will be free.
