The bulk of renovations to Rossford’s schools won’t get under way until spring, but plans for housing students are beginning to take shape.

District officials have long been in talks with Owens Community College to relocate high school students there, and the school board reaffirmed its support for the plan at a meeting Friday. Students would go to Owens starting with the 2018-19 school year and remain there until January, 2020.

Middle school students will move to the former Indian Hills Elementary, 401 Glenwood Road. They will also move back to the Rossford downtown campus in January, 2020.

Orginal plans called for junior high students to stay put during construction, but the board believes moving them temporarily is best for all parties.

Rossford voters passed a 11.4-mill bond levy in 2016 to renovate the district’s facilities. They levy will generate about $70 million.
