SEMCOG conducting water survey in Monroe Co., metro Detroit

MONROE — Public opinions about water and its management in southeast Michigan are the subject of an online survey offered by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments.

The regional council will use participants’ responses to questions about water and water infrastructure “to better develop educational materials and plan for water-related challenges facing the region,” an introduction to the 10-minute questionnaire states.

“Water is our most precious and valuable natural resource, and the systems that provide water throughout southeast Michigan ensure the success and quality of life in our region,” Kathleen Lomako, SEMCOG’s executive director, said in announcing the survey.

Eight individuals residing in the SEMCOG region will be chosen at random from among survey respondents to receive a $75 VISA gift card. The SEMCOG region includes Monroe County and six other Michigan counties in the greater Detroit area. The survey will be posted until Aug. 31.
