Black Swamp Conservancy will show a documentary on sustainable agriculture later this month in Maumee.
A showing of “The Biggest Little Farm” will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Maumee Indoor Theatre on Conant Street. The film chronicles an “eight-year quest” of a married couple “as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature,” according to organizers.
It will be followed by a panel discussion to be moderated by Danielle Kusner, an agronomist with the Andersons Inc. who leads initiatives in organics and soil health.
Additionally, local farmers will be on hand to talk about their practices. Attendees will also be able to sign up for community supported agriculture.
Black Swamp Conservancy bills itself as a nonprofit that supports “healthy communities with strong, sustainable economies” (including agriculture and ecotourism) “by protecting the region’s valuable land and water resources.”
