ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the suspects who broke into a sporting goods store and stole several guns.

The incident was reported at 3:50 a.m. April 8 at Johnson’s Sporting Goods Store, 3654 N. Adrian Hwy., Adrian.

When deputies arrived they discovered a side employee entrance door had been forced open. A display case that contained handguns was broken into and several handguns appeared to be missing, deputies said.

Surveillance video shows that possibly two people in dark clothing entered the building and one person went to the display case. That person broke the glass and removed the guns, according to the sheriff’s office. The other person was looking at long guns behind the counter area, although it is unknown if any of the guns were taken.

The suspects were in the building for three minutes before exiting. They fled on foot, heading toward a paved trail on the north side of the business, the sheriff’s office reported.

Anyone with information should contact the Lenawee County Crime Stopper program at 517-266-6161 or 877-276-8477.
