Officials identified a woman whose body was found Saturday in South Toledo with multiple stab wounds.
The woman was identified as 30-year-old Michelle Keagler. Her body was found about 8 a.m. near Kuhlman Drive and South Avenue in South Toledo, officials said.
Dr. Jeffrey Hudson, a Lucas County deputy coroner, said she was stabbed 24 times, with 15 wounds to her front side and nine to the back. Some of the wounds were defensive, he said.
The weapon is believed to be a large knife, he added.
Authorities were notified by a passing truck driver, who noticed a person lying off the side of the road. The truck driver sounded his horn, then called 911, Dr. Hudson said Saturday.
The victim’s death marks the 29th homicide in Toledo so far this year.
Officers asked anyone with information, including the victim’s possible identity, to call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
