Religious Offerings: Affordable 'tiny house' village planned

Tiny House Village

A “tiny house” village is in the works for Toledo. The Monroe Street Neighborhood Center is raising funds to construct up to 24 individual residences, each measuring 400 square feet or less, on Bluff Street between Rosedale Avenue and Ottawa Drive.

The Monroe Street Neighborhood Center is the nonprofit affiliated with Monroe Street United Methodist Church, which is parallel to Bluff Street. Monroe Street and the Lucas County Land Bank own the land on the street, which had been largely abandoned.

Bluff Street Village is being funded through donations. Construction of each tiny house runs $50,000. For more information on how to support the project, go to bluffstreetvillage.org.
