  • A crowded Marathon Classic leaderboard at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania offers plenty of intrigue for Friday’s second round.

For those headed to the course for Day 2 of the tournament, here are three groupings that will be of interest:

    1) I.K. Kim, Stacy Lewis, and Angel Yin (1:21 p.m., No. 1 tee)

Kim and Lewis, a Toledo native, own three major championships. Lewis, always a crowd favorite, has her own cheering section, the “Lew Crew.” Kim is one shot off Thidapa Suwannapura’s lead and Lewis is three back.

    2) Paula Creamer, Chella Choi, Yu Liu (1:10 p.m., No. 1 tee)

Creamer (even) and Choi (3-under-par) are past Marathon Classic winners, while Liu (even) is an LPGA Tour rookie who almost won a tournament in May. Creamer’s is perhaps the most popular player in the Marathon Classic’s history.

    3) Lizzie Win, Brittany Benvenuto, Olafia Kristinsdottir (9:10 a.m., No. 10 tee)

Win, a St. Ursula graduate and current Seton Hall player, shot 4 over in the first round. She received a sponsor’s exemption to play in her first Tour event. Kristinsdottir (1-under) is the first professional golfer from Iceland and Benvenuto is a rare left-hander on the Tour.
