ANN ARBOR — The numbers are in.

Dan Enos will be paid $150,000 during the first year of his four-year contract, with $50,000 raises each season. Al Washington’s two-year contract starts at $350,000, with a $25,000 raise in 2019. And strength coach Ben Herbert’s deal is worth $1.45 million over three years.

The figures are from the Michigan coaches’ contracts, which were obtained from the University of Michigan.

Enos will coach wide receivers and Washington will serve as UM’s linebackers and special teams coach. Teams are now able to hire a 10th assistant, but Washington’s title has created speculation about Chris Partridge’s future with the Wolverines.

247Sports reported that Partridge is being courted by Alabama. Multiple reports have indicated if Partridge remains in Ann Arbor, he will be the safeties coach, which was vacated by Brian Smith, who left to become Rice’s defensive coordinator. Devin Bush Sr. was the interim safeties coach during the Outback Bowl.

Enos’ contract states that if the word “coordinator” becomes part of his job title, he will receive a base salary of $750,000. Enos is owed $2.25 million from Arkansas after the school dismissed head coach Bret Bielema and Enos was not retained by new coach Chad Morriss.

It’s possible Enos could get his pay bump soon. Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated reported that Jon Gruden could target Pep Hamilton to be part of his staff with the Oakland Raiders. Hamilton, Michigan’s passing game coordinator, is paid $1 million per season.

His first year with the Wolverines was a flop, as UM went 8-5 and had one of its worst offensive outputs in recent seasons.
