MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team never got its offense going Saturday and was blown out 85-47 by Mid-American Conference leader Central Michigan at McGuirk Arena.

The loss is the third straight for the Rockets and moves them below .500 in MAC play.

Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott led Toledo (15-10, 6-7 MAC) with 14 points, while Kaayla McIntyre and Tanaya Beacham added 12 points each.

The 12 points from Beacham was a career-high, as she made 6-of-9 shots from the field and added six rebounds. Mikaela Boyd scored eight points and Jada Woody was the only other Toledo player to score with just one point.

The Rockets struggled to deal with Tinara Moore down low, as the talented senior finished with 22 points and eight rebounds. She made 10 of her 17 shots from the field.

Cassie Breen added 14 points for the Chippewas (20-3, 12-0 MAC), Presley Hudson finished with 13 points, and Micaela Kelly and Kyra Russell had 10 each.

Toledo never really had a chanc, as Central Michigan raced out to a 24-8 lead after one quarter and extended it to 45-20 at halftime.

The Rockets, who have struggled with outside shooting this season, had a tough afternoon offensively, as they shot 21-of-71 (29.6 percent) from the field and 4-of-24 (16.7 percent) from 3-point range. Bravo-Harriott made all four of Toledo’s 3s.

Toledo came into the game as the third-best scoring defense in the conference, allowing just 68.8 points per game.

Central Michigan sailed past that easily, going 35-of-54 (54.7 percent) from the field and 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from 3s.

The Chippewas came in as the top-scoring team in the conference, averaging 83.5 points per game. They were able to slightly surpass their average, and also had a 50-33 rebounding advantage.

Toledo hosts Western Michigan at 2 p.m. next Saturday.
